If you look up the definition of a desert, you will find something close to the following… “A desert is a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs and consequently living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life.” This seems to imply that little inspiration and beauty could come from such a place. Well, we’re here to tell you those implications are wrong. Our friends at Meggie Taylor Photography sent over this vintage elegant desert inspired wedding, and it’s here to prove that in simplicity there is an abundance of beauty.
According to Meggie, “a muted color palette is reflective of the desert scenes of the bride and grooms upbringing . The couple also wanted to incorporate western and Mexican culture into the elements of the ceremony and reception. The vibe is casual, comfortable yet simple elegance… One of the more unique features of the ceremony were wreaths carried by the bridesmaids in lieu of bouquets. Succulents and cacti were abundant throughout the ceremony from the boutonnieres to the reception centerpieces. For the more elegant touches candles were scattered around the tables.”
Everything about this wedding is perfection. We are mesmerized by the simplicity and meaningful details that seem to still be as every bit dramatic. This couple and vendor team absolutely nailed the elegant desert inspiration. We are particularly in love with the bridesmaid wreaths and our gorgeous bride’s boho-chic 1920’s hybrid gown. Huge thanks to the ever-talented Meggie Taylor for sending over such stunning work! We’re 100% confident this wedding will inspire brides-to-be and desert-goers everywhere.
