Confession time, people. How many of you out there are dreaming of a “princess” wedding? We’re guessing if we’re asking 10 year olds, the percentage is pretty high. How and why 10 year olds are reading this post right now, we have no idea. But if we’re polling adults (fingers crossed), we’re guessing the percentage is a lot lower. Why is that? There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be a princess on your big day. It’s the one day you can go balls to the wall and no one will judge you for it. We’ve decided that we think most brides shy away from the “princess” vibe because it can easily come across too cheesy. We’re not necessarily disagreeing with that. However, there IS a way to have a royal wedding and it be fabulous, classic, and elegant. Leave it to our girl, Lara Hotz, to capture an editorial-worthy french estate formal wedding in Australia.

Set at the gorgeous Deux Belettes venue in Byron Bay, this wedding is giving us a major dose of wedding goals. The setting itself is enough to make anyone faint. The french architecture and antique touches would make even the non-believers fall in love. Our bride is in a j-a-w-d-r-o-p-p-i-n-g Steven Khalil two-piece gown. We are suckers for a good two-piece wedding gown, and let us tell you folks, this one does not disappoint. What is so great about this gown is that the main mermaid dress is still fully visible. The voluminous detachable skirt merely graces the sides and back of her body, leaving the front totally open. This creates an extremely dramatic and high fashion bridal look.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does. The event and floral design by The Events Lounge and Bower Botanicals are out of this world. We have rarely seen flowers so perfectly and abundantly incorporated. They truly add the touch of romanticism and delicacy to this wedding. The reception was beautifully put together in a tent on the garden grounds. The candlestick centerpieces and elegant china coordinate with the vibe and theme seamlessly.

So, remember what we’ve learned today. You can still have that princess wedding you’ve always dreamed of as a little girl. Instead of cliché and cheesy, it can be chic and classic. Plus, you can always just call our fairy godmothers friends Lara Hotz, The Events Lounge, and Bower Botanicals to work their magic for you!
